
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Jamesenez on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actress and producer. Her professional career began in Mexico and she appeared in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) that was a huge success and earned her an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were just a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) that she also co-produced she became the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6In addition, she earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films as well as starring in action films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
