Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural family. She was born within South London. She is English but her father is Nigerian. She went to The Brit School when she was 14. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned a BA degree in acting. She appeared in many stage productions during her college days, such as the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting journey began with Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had appearances in guest roles for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as appearing in six episodes of Trexx and Flipside playing Ollie. She also landed the role in the role of Bambi in The ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in episodes two and three. Madekwe was the main character in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in the theatre are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 drama The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the ABC drama series Revenge during two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she was set to quit the show after completing an appearance in the initial series of the 3rd. The actress played Tituba in the series Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time lover, Iddo. The two have collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he is also a part of the cast in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty together with four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball fields because her four athletic brothers all played baseball, hockey, as well as both during summer and winter. Ashley did not walk; instead, she would dance. At age two and half, she found Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley continued to perform competitively until her high-school graduation with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and much more. The top soloist at important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more were awarded to Ashley.
